Best flashlight thread (or, "torch" if you are from Southern Africa)
When I last went to Zimbabwe, the PH's were all in for SureFire flashlights except for one thing--they burned through batteries which were not always easy to replace. Now we have high intensity LED, etc. and some with batteries that are high tech and somewhat unfamiliar. What are your latest thoughts on the best and brightest in flashlights, preferably super bright but not as large as a riot baton?

Buffalo specific question
So I've done my own taxidermy for decades now. Had a very successful shop mounting whitetails, hogs, and striped bass, with occasional forays into black bears, caribou, elk... So I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing in terms of the mounting and finishing process. HOWEVER...
I'm curious about the incision used for buffalo: is anyone using a short Y cut, or is it simply assumed in Africa that all specimens for mounting are split down the back?

Shipping Quote
So I received a shipping estimate for a finished shoulder mounted Buffalo, Sable, Zebra and Kudu skin and skull from SA. The price was $5450 plus import fees on the US side of $1350 to Chicago, got a little sticker shock going on right now. What the heck has shipping went up that much? Can't help to think I'm over paying, correct me if I'm wrong to feel this way? By the way if I opt not to ship the Buffalo the shipping drops to $2900, import price stays the same.
Solid before soft point
Daga boy is approaching me at high speed.
I raise the carbine and shoot.
One bullet after another.
This is a situation I have thought about many times. I wonder if it is better that in say 416 rigby the first bullet is solid and the second soft? In which order do you who have had such situations put the bullets in the barrel? Thank you
