I had a 10 day hunting trip in July 2024 filmed. First it turned out amazing but second in watching it I noticed a habit that I picked up while shooting from sticks. When I lined up the shot I would take my left index finger and hold down on the barrel. I noticed some of my shots would hit left or right by several inches. Not enough to make me miss but enough to hit a few inches left or right. I think this is invaluable tool to continually improve my hunting ability.

Actually my bags have been packed for 3 weeks...leaving tomorrow afternoon...Delta to ATL...then JNB...then overnight at Africa Sky this time...then fly to Polokwane...then drive all over Limpopo for a week chasing tiny 10 and night critters with a 22 Hornet...BUT I've got a 416 just in case something interesting on quota pops up. I'm curious if there is a bolt-action cartridge that replicates the 500NE ballistics or there abouts without the need of "loading down" the 500 Jeffery or 505 Gibbs.
Essentially looking at options that fit between the 458 WinMag and 500 Jeffery without the recoil of the 500 Jeffery. Is there a cartridge that meets the following criteria? I'm guessing not..
